(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Shia-Sunni Brotherhood Assembly of Indonesia is inaugurated by Iranian and Indonesian officials.
This ceremony was attended by officials, elits, thinkers and religious scholars from Iran and Indonesia.
In this ceremony which was also attended by thousands of Shia and Sunni Muslims in Akbar Mosque, Jakarta, Jalal eddin Rahmat underscored protection of Muslim unity as a main pillar of Islam and referred to the importance of issue for the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
He said foundation of Shia-Sunni Brotherhood Assembly aimed at maintaining Muslim unity in Indonesia and expressed hope that the assembly can play an important role in promoting objectives of the Muslims community in this southeastern Asia.
Dawood Pooliraja stressed a common path and objective ahead of Shia and Sunni and demanded realization of Muslim unity which has remained merely a motto so far.
Mahmoud Farazandeh, Iranian ambassador in Indonesia congratulated the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (AS) and late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini and said, "When enemies of Islam have invaded Muslim countries like Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon and the first Qibla (direction for prayers) of Muslims is seized by the Zionist regime, there should be no space for sedition in Muslim community because the enemy would benefit that."
In another part of his speech he said fundamentalism, extremism, invasion of mosques and massacre of the civilians have no place in Islam and assimilated the revolution in Egypt and Iran in their victory over the dictators without the use of arms.
Mahmoud Farazandeh highlighted developing of religious knowledge as a joint duty of Muslims and called the unity in Muslim unity as the source of power and stability and the secret to their success.
Shia-Sunni Brotherhood Assembly was founded by Dr Jalal eddin Rahmat, head of Shia Society of Indonesia and Dawood Pooliraja, head of Mosques Society of Indonesia.
