(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - British Prime Minister David Cameron, speaking after talks with ITNC chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil, also said that Britain would boost its presence in the rebel stronghold of Benghazi, where British diplomats are now based.
"These steps continue our very clear intention to work with the council to ensure Libya has a safe and stable future, free from the tyranny of the Gaddafi regime," said Cameron after the talks in Downing Street.
He reiterated that it would be "impossible" to imagine a future for Libya with Colonel Moamer Gaddafi still in power.
"The council represents the future of Libya as much as Gaddafi represents its past," said Cameron.
Jalil, who also had talks with Foreign Secretary William Hague, said he had come to London to thank the British government and people for their "discipline and moral stand" in supporting the rebellion.
Hague said earlier that the provision of more "non-lethal" equipment to the rebels would also be discussed. Britain has in the past provided funds and technical communication equipment to the rebels, but ruled out arms supplies.
Jalil said he had invited Cameron and Hague to visit the rebel stronghold in Libya.
