Iran women to protest against Bahrain crackdown on Friday

Iranian women will take to the streets in a show of solidarity with Bahraini women who are continually falling victim to violation of government forces.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Iranian women will take to the streets in a show of solidarity with Bahraini women who are continually falling victim to violation of government forces.

The protest rally will be held on Friday “upon repeated calls from Iranian women organizations and communities and in line with condemnation of the deplorable killing of innocent Muslims in Bahrain,” the Council for Coordination of Islamic Development said in a statement, IRNA reported on Wednesday.

The demonstration will above all condemn the killing, abuse and torture of Bahraini women by Saudi-backed security forces loyal to Al Khalifa royal family.

The council called on all Iranian people, women in particular, to stage their support for the Bahraini people and turn out to condemn the continued crimes against humanity in Bahrain.

Destruction of mosques, burning copies of the Holy Qur'an and assaulting women are among the inhuman acts by Saudi and Bahraini forces in the Persian Gulf kingdom.
