Martyred Bahraini publisher to be commemorated in Tehran International Book Fair

The manger of the Association of Religious Publishers pointed out to the martyrdom of active Bahraini publishers, Abdul-Karim Fakhravi, during the country's protests and condemned the regime. The Shiite publisher will be honored in the 24th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF).

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Morteza Akhoundi told that the commemoration will be held in order to honor the publisher in the international print industry as we will express our sympathy with the people of Bahrain and condemn the regime's violence as well.

He said that martyr Fakhravi was the manger of "Maktab Al-Fakhravi" as he had translated more than 250 Persian book titles into Arabic by great Iranian researchers and authors.

The late publisher has translated books including works of martyr Motahari, martyr Ayatollah Dastgheib, Hujjatul Islam Qera'ati, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli and etc.

Moreover he established bookstores in different points of Bahrain in order to develop Shiite's written culture, distributed Shiite works among the Bahraini people as well as other regions including Persian Gulf's southern countries.

Akhoundi underlined:" His close cultural connection with some Iranian publishers and his attempts for choosing the best books for publishing and distributing them in Arabic countries and attending TIBF annually were some of his traits."

He was martyred in the police custody, a week after he failed to return home from a police station where he had tried to complain about his house being demolished by police.
