Indonesia: Graft investigated in project for huge mosque

Indonesia's Central Kalimantan High Prosecutor’s Office is investigating suspected graft surrounding the building of the Great Mosque in Murung Raya Regency. The construction has cost Rp 44 billion (5.06 million dollars) since 2008.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - “We have gathered several documents requesting information of a number of witnesses for the sake of data gathering. Hopefully, in the near future, the investigation team will be established,” Ponco Santoso, Head of the Legal Information Division, said on Thursday..

He added that the suspicions regarding possible corrupt practices were based on reports from the community. Several parts of the building were said to be built not in accordance with the work contract.
