Alas! When Allah (SWT) blessed his son and he qualified as a dentist and graduated top in his class, he was tragically killed in a road accident on his way home to Mombasa , where his father and family were anxiously waiting for his blissful arrival.
This tragedy shook Fakhrudin and he went into depression.
Fortunately, his wife’s love, care and understanding constantly guided him and inspired him with culminative and progressive ideologies and gradually he returned to normal life.
As he merged out of the darkness of depression, and accepted the will of Allah (SWT), he ventured into building a Masjid in memory of his son, in the remote area of Kwale district, where a mosque was badly needed.
The proactive approach of building a mosque is rooted in the Islamic concept of ‘Sadaqah Jariya’ or an ongoing and continuous charity.
Sometimes, a shock is all it takes to think of this act.
Continuous ‘Sadaqah’ is one of the best things a Muslim can seek as a good deed and useful contribution to the society.
Recently Muslim Association Mombasa with the help and assistance of one of their supporters replaced the existing floor mats in the Masjid with carpets which were officially handed over to the Imam of the Masjid by Fakhrudin Kashmiri on behalf of the Association.
On behalf of the residents of the area, the Imam expressed his gratitude to the membership of the Muslim Association Mombasa for their generous and timely donation for carpets.
The Imam of the Masjid pointed out, “The Muslim Association Mombasa has a unique reputation of serving humanity in the rural areas where help is most needed.
“We applaud their efforts in providing food rations during the month of Ramadhan and distributing meat to the poor at the time of Eid ul Adha to show gratitude towards Allah and to provide for the needy.
“At our request, the Muslim Association Mombasa provided carpets for the convenience and comfort of people who pray at this Masjid.
“On behalf of the people of Kwale, I wish to thank the Muslim Association of Mombasa and its membership, particularly Fakhrudin Kashmiri who built this Masjid in memory of his late son Aamir Kashmiri.
“I am pleased with the Muslim Association Mombasa and their efforts to serve humanity and their generous donation of providing carpets.
“All your help is a true blessing and is greatly appreciated by each and every member of our Muslim community.
“May Allah reward the Muslim Association Mombasa and give strength to its dedicated workers to continue to serve humanity. Ameen!”
