Bauchi community raises N75m for mosque project

Over N75million was realized at the fund raising for the Chinade Central Mosque at the weekend, with the highest donation of N30million coming from the Bauchi State government and the 20 local government areas of the state.

NIGERIA, Africa (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Over N75million was realized at the fund raising for the Chinade Central Mosque at the weekend, with the highest donation of N30million coming from the Bauchi State government and the 20 local government areas of the state.

Governor Isa Yuguda, who announced the state government’s donation, pledged his administration’s continued support towards ensuring the successful completion of the project and advised Muslim communities to donate generously to the project.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Babayo Garba Gamawa commended the Chinade Community for the decision to reconstruct the over 50 years’ old mosque.

The Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir Umar, who was represented by Makaman Katagum, Alhaji Aliyu Hussaini and the Guest Speaker at the occasion, Sheikh Tijjani Bala Kalarawi from Kano State, who spoke on the significance of rebuilding the mosque, enjoined Muslim communities to contribute to the project.

Chairman, Chinade Central Mosque appeal fund committee, Ambassador Jibrin Dada Chinade, said the local government acquired the land for the project and paid N7million as compensation. He on behalf of the committee pledged to make judicious use of the money realized at the launch.
