(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Libyan leader Moamer Gaddafi's security forces launched airstrikes on the eastern city of al-Burayqa in an attempt to re-take control, media reported Wednesday.
At least one Libyan air force fighter jet dropped bombs over the city, Al Jazeera reported.
Hundreds of pro-Gaddafi forces are reported to have entered the city and are clashing with protesters.
An unknown number of people have been killed so far in the clashes.
Gaddafi's forces have been trying to regain control of several Libyan cities which are in the hands of protesters.
