(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - More than 2 millions of Egyptians took to the streets on Friday in Cairo, Alexandria and in a number of Egyptian cities to celebrate the victory of the revolution and emphasize their demands.
Al-Zuhr and al-Asr prayers and prayer of the absent were performed for the souls of the martyrs. President of the International Association of Muslim Scholars (IAMS), Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi led the prayers.
Sheikh al-Qaradawi called for the formation of a new government and the release of political prisoners. He also urged the Egyptian army and the Supreme Council of the armed forces to open Rafah crossing for the relief of citizens in Gaza.
The protesters said that their demonstration today is to emphasize the political demands of the revolution including cleansing the country of the corrupt.
The youth of Egypt revolution yesterday announced the establishment of a new party named the "Revolutionaries of Tahrir Square". They said the party would accept only those under age 50.
The party aims at transforming the revolution from the case of a popular uprising succeeded in achieving the change into an organization seeking to positively participate in building the new state.
The union of youth revolution also called on Supreme Council of the armed forces to immediately stop the state of emergency, release all political detainees and to put a new constitution for the country under the supervision of an elected commission.
On the other hand, the Egyptian television announced that Egypt decided to open Rafah crossing before the stranded Palestinians and humanitarian cases.
