The ICMCC will convene at the invitation of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, (OIC) and in cooperation with the Libyan General People's Committee for Social Affairs.

The third ICMCC will consider four documents prepared by ISESCO, namely “The State of the Child in the Islamic World: Overview of Recent Progress and Remaining Challenges”; “Accelerating Early Childhood Development in the Islamic World”; the “Laws on the Protection of Child Rights and their Enforcement Mechanisms in the Islamic World”; and the “Draft Legal Framework for the Establishment of ISESCO Forum for Children of the Islamic World”.

The previous two sessions of the ICMCC, which were held respectively in Rabat in 2005 and in Khartoum in 2009, issued the "Rabat Declaration on Child Issues in the Islamic World" and the "Khartoum Declaration: Towards a Brighter Future for our Children".

For the record, Mrs Amira Al-Fadel, the Sudanese Minister of Welfare and Social Security, chaired the second session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers in Charge of Childhood.

The third session of the conference is expected to issue the "Tripoli Declaration on Accelerating Early Childhood Development in the Islamic World".
