Snipers of Mubarak flee Cairo square

Reports say Egyptian anti-government protesters have forced out thousands of plain clothes police forces and snipers from Cairo's Tahrir Square.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Reports say Egyptian anti-government protesters have forced out thousands of plain clothes police forces and snipers from Cairo's Tahrir Square.

This comes as anti-government demonstrators are gathering in Tahrir Square as protests against embattled President Hosni Mubarak continue for a tenth day.

Main opposition figures have called for another mass rally on Friday. They say it could be President Hosni Mubarak's day of departure.

Millions have start marching towards Tahrir square, which has become the symbol of the ongoing revolutionary movement.

A Press TV correspondent in Cairo interviewed with some anti-government protesters on the streets of Cairo.

They were some of the many who witnessed the bitter incidents taking place in Egypt.

Mubarak's regime is stepping up its crackdown on media in the country. Mubarak's vigilantes have stormed hotels in Cairo hunting for foreign journalists.

Protesters have vowed to stand firm despite the deadly clashes that left several people dead and at least 1,500 others wounded in Cairo on Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday.

According to the United Nations, at least 300 people have so far been killed and thousands more injured during nationwide protests in troubled Egypt.

The protests are calling for Mubarak to step down immediately.
