Baunchi, Nigeria(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Special Adviser to Governor Isa Yuguda on Education and Societal Re-orientation, Dr. Salisu Shehu, disclosed this to newsmen in Bauchi on Monday.
He said that the aim of the competition was to select the best candidate that would represent the state during the forthcoming national Quranic recitation competition.
Shehu added that the competition was an annual event which started two decades ago.
“The ongoing Quranic recitation competition that commenced on January 30, is the 25th of the event that is hosted by Bauchi Local Government Coucil.
“Bauchi Local Government is the first local government to host the event before Gombe State was created from the state,” he said.
He maintained that as the Quran contained 60 chapters, the competition was divided into six categories.
