(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Some 50 Egyptian rights groups have called for beleaguered President Hosni Mubarak to avoid bloodshed as protesters prepare for a 'million march in Egypt' and indefinite general strike.
More than 5,000 protesters converged in the center of Cairo in the early hours of Tuesday to mark a week since the unprecedented demonstrations began in the North African country.
Many protesters defied a curfew to bunker down overnight in Cairo's Tahrir Square. They were joined by thousands of others soon after dawn, some toting signs reading "Mubarak Out," while others carried posters showing beleaguered Mubarak hanging from a noose.
