The ceremony was conducted by Islamic Conversion Officers from the Tutong Dakwah Section, Islamic Dakwah Centre.
Present as guest of honour at the ceremony was Awg Hj Muhammad Suffian bin Hj Bongsu, the Acting Tutong District Officer. The ceremony was also witnessed by Awg Muhammad Lufti bin Hj Abdullah, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Orang Kaya Jaya Putra Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Taha bin Rauf, Penghulu of Mukim Keriam; Orang Kaya Maha Wijaya Hj Otman bin Uking, a member of the Legislative Council; and Dr Hj Mohd Hadi bin Hj Mohd Melayong, the Director of Information.
The ceremony was then followed by a "Dikir Marhaban" presentation and the sprinkling of scented flowers on the new converts. The new converts later received souvenirs from the guest of honour. The ceremony ended with a `doa selamat'.
According to records from the Islamic Conversion Section, nine people from the Tutong District have converted to Islam since January 1, 2011.
