(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) today denounced the police for arresting people without proper investigations in criminal cases, especially those related to terror.
"The AIMPLB has received complaints from a number of states, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, that many innocent people were rounded up and let-off after staying in jails for years," Kalbe Jawwad, a member of the apex body of Muslims, said.
When an innocent person is arrested like this, he unnecessarily gets branded as a terrorist or a criminal and had to spend many precious years of his life in jail, he said.
The AIMPLB member said it was not his case that terrorists or criminals should not be apprehended. However, no innocent should be allowed to suffer without any valid reason.
