Qaradawi's Shia Deputy Strongly Slams Anti Shia Book

Deputy of the International Union of Muslim Scholars slammed the stealth way of offending the Shia in Africa in a newly published book.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Ayatollah Mohammad Vaez Zade Khorasani, deputy of the International Union of Muslim Scholars in a letter to the head of the union, Sheykh Dr Yusuf Qaradawi, slammed the publication of "Shi'ism in Africa" accusing the publishers not to be fully informed on the topic.

The book, according to the Iranian scholar, must have been revised by the Union's board of trustees in a bid to prevent the publication of the baseless accusations against Shia.

He also expressed his objection against the satanic method of the book to relate bad events of the world of Islam especially those of African countries to the Islamic Republic of Iran and said," Some Shia institutions are not in contact with the Islamic Republic of Iran and do not even share the same view with our country."

A senior member of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said, "Shia has the right to perform their religious ceremonies and set up mosques anywhere in the world."

Senior religious figure rejected two accusations against Iran and said, "What the book claims about the activities of Iran's Supreme Committee of the Cultural Revival and also cultural outlets of Iran are absolutely baseless."

Hujjatul Islam Mohammad Vaez Zade Khorasani refuted the other fallacy in the book regarding the activities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the African countries blaming Iranian Official meetings and economical activities of Iran to be pretext for spreading Shia culture.

"This is while" continued top cleric "that the book ignores the cultural centers and universities of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Libya and Egypt".

He described the reason for this ignorance is that the authors are scared to criticize the Wahhabi since the authors themselves are Wahhabi.
