(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Head of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought refers to the attack of the Ashura mourners in Malaysia and warns against the differences which might end in excommunication.
Following the recent heinous act of the security forces attacking Ashura mourners in Selangor state of Malaysia, Iranian top cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri in a letter asked religious leaders and top figures of the country to prevent the detained clerics to be tried on alleged accusations.
In this letter addressed to Malaysian top figures including head of Jamiat Ulama and head of Muslim Unity community, Iranian senior cleric said," What happened on the eve of Ashura was quite shocking to us all."
He also said," At the fatwa of Sheykh Al-monadi, the religious official of Selangor, who accuses the Shia for having distracting beliefs, police force attacked the mourning ceremony of Imam Hussein."
He asked the religious figures not to let the religious differences to accuse each other of excommunication and religious innovation and to bring division among Muslims.
During the mourning ceremony of Imam Hussein (AS) in Hauzah ar Radah in state of Selangor, security forces raided the mourners arresting 200 mourners among them the local cleric as well as the visiting cleric from Iran.
The two clerics have been released on bail and will appear at a hearing to be held on January 20th.
