Ahmad al-Tayyeb, grand sheikh of Al-azhar University said more efforts should be stepped up to study the roots of terrorism, adding that "Some enemies seek disunity between Shia and Sunni Muslims."
"Bomb attack to the Coptic church in Alexandria shows the enemies are not after waging war between Christians and Muslims but they seek a conflict between Shia and Sunni", said Egyptian grand scholar.
He also stressed the importance of paying tribute to churches in Islamic countries and said that his visit to Pope Shenouda III, Egypt's Coptic Church leader was based on Islamic ethics.
Previously Ahmad al-Tayyeb had noted that those behind the plan of the greater Middle East were the plotters of bomb blast in Egypt's Coptic Church, too.
"The Zionist regime does not want to be a minor country among big countries, therefore it seeks the division of Muslim world," the senior Mufti concluded.
