Senior Egyptian Mufti Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayyeb, referred to the efforts of the Zionist regime of Israel to divide the Islamic nation in Sudan and said," The Islam-Christianity conflict leads to a conflict between Shia and Sunni,".
He also said," The plan to divide the Islamic nation has started and is being followed in countries like Iraq and Sudan."
Ahmad al-Tayyeb blamed Israel for masterminding the plot and said," Israel does not want to be a minor country among big countries, hence it seeks to divide Islamic nation."
He also referred to the terrorist attack of the Egyptian Christians as another part of the Zionist plot and stressed that, "Discordance between the Muslims and Christians is a preface to bringing disunity between Shia and Sunni."
"Certainly those behind the plan for the New Middle East are behind the plan to divide Sudan, too", said Ahmad al-Tayyeb referring to the historic relation between Muslims and Christians.
In a referendum to be held on January 9, 2011, the issue of Sudan and whether the people support separation of southern Sudan will be decided.
Based on the reports, the referendum is part of the West and Israel's plan to divide the country and taking control of the southern oil-rich territory from the Muslims in the north.
