(AhlulBayt News Agency) - “Shooting of ‘Resurrection Day’ has come to an end after eleven months,” director Ahmadreza Darvish said ion Tuesday.
He said that he spent years studying for and struggling with the project.
Film editing will likely begin in two weeks. The postproduction stage is expected to last for a year with the film expected to be ready for its premiere in 2012, he added.
The project introduces Arash Asefi, who plays Bakir, the son of the commander of Ubaydullah ibn Ziad, Horr ibn Yazid Riahi, who joined the companions of Imam Hussein the night before Ashura, the day upon which Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions were martyred.
Puria Pursorkh, Hassan Purshirazi, Farhad Qaemian, Babak Hamidian, Anshirvan Arjmand and 19 other actors are the main members of the cast.
The film also stars “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” actor David Sterne, and Talhat Hamdi and Fawaz Sarwar from Syria, Dawood Hussain from Kuwait, Yusuf Shekarchi from Iraq and several other foreign actors.
