(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Following the Alexandria church attack that killed 21 people, calls were made for Egyptian Muslims to express solidarity with Copts who are to celebrate Christmas on 7 January.
A group of activists used Twitter to call on Muslims to attend the Christmas Eve Holy Eucharist as a gesture of unity. Internet activists also urged Muslims to attend Christmas celebrations at nearby churches. Several invitations to donate blood to the victims of the attack were sent out via Facebook.
Meanwhile, the Muslim Brotherhood, which maintains a strong presence in Alexandria, described the bombing as “criminal”, saying it rejects any violence that targets Copts or intimidates them. The group expressed condolences to all Egyptians, urging them to unite in the face of the attack.
