Mourning Ceremonies on Muharram in Sudan

On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions, mourning ceremonies have been held in Khartoum, Sudan

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions, mourning ceremonies have been held in Khartoum, Sudan.

A ceremony for Iranians residing in Sudan is being held every night after the evening prayers with the presence of Iranian ambassador to Sudan, officials of the Iranian embassy and Iran Cultural Center in Khartoum.

Hojjat-ol-Islam Ibrahim Ansari, director general for cultural issues of Africa and Arab countries of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and Malakuti Tabar, Iranian cultural attaché in Sudan, as the two speakers of the program, discuss the objectives of Ashura uprising and the lessons of the incident.

Mourning rituals and elegies are performed by Hashemi Nazhad, Bakhtiari, Motevalli Zadeh and Mahmoudi.

87 regions in Khartoum host mourning ceremonies on the occasion held in cooperation with Iran Cultural Center in this city.
