GHANA, Africa (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Forty day prayer for repose of the soul of  late Sheikh AbdusSalam  Bansi, the Leader of Shia Muslim community in Ghana, who died on 26th of October 2010, was held on Sunday the 5th of December 2010 in Accra, Ghana.

Sheikh Bansi was among the prominent Scholars in Ghana who studied in the holy city of Qom for many years.

Meanwhile, the Leader of the Islamic in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, who could not attend the forty-day prayer, explains that a similar prayer for the soul of the deceased will be organised in Nigeria. In a letter of condolence to the family of the deceased, Sheikh Zakzaky wrote “Unfortunately, 5th December 2010 will only be day before the start of Muharram 1432 when we are scheduled to start the ten days of mourning of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS). For this reason I will not be able to come for the 40th day du’a. However, we will in sha Allah, keep a jalsa for prayers here in Nigeria for him on the same day. I will also ask our brothers and sisters here to pray for him during our Ashura jalsat.”

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
