42 converted to Islam in Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan: Forty-two new converts from Brunei's four districts participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to mark the participants' completion in reciting the whole of the Quran. The ceremony was held at the Islamic Da'wah Centre yesterday.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Bandar Seri Begawan: Forty-two new converts from Brunei's four districts participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to mark the participants' completion in reciting the whole of the Quran. The ceremony was held at the Islamic Da'wah Centre yesterday.

The converts, 18 males and 24 females, were participants of the Converts' Guidance Course (KBM) and al-Quran classes organised by the centre. Present as the guest of honour was Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Hjh Adina Othman, who congratulated the converts for their achievement and encouraged them to continue to take active participation in Quranic learning.

Speaking to The Brunei Times, the participants said they were very happy with their accomplishments and hoped that they would continue to be active in learning the Quran in the future. In addition to honouring the new converts, the event was also to encourage them to be more active in learning the Quran.
