SHAH ALAM, Malaysia (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim Monday said that the action of a non-Muslim delegate from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in quoting verses from the Quran when speaking at PKR's annual congress which concluded in Petaling Jaya Sunday, was a good development.
He said what the delegate, identified as S. Kesavan, did was good because it would prompt others to also use the Quran as reference.
"He had only related how the Quran made it compulsory for all mankind to carry out their responsibilities well," he told the media after attending a conference of Menteris Besar and Chief Minister of states controlled by DAP, PAS and PKR.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat, who was also present, said non-Muslims were allowed to quote verses from the Quran.
On the conference, Abdul Khalid said they only discussed socio-economic matters and did not dwell on the next general election.
