(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The 12th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference will be held in Sharm Al Sheikh, Egypt, during the period 16-17 March 2011 with the participation of the Kings and Heads of States and Governments of the Member Countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
The Islamic Summit is the supreme policy and decision making authority of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. It convenes once every three years to deliberate, take policy decisions and provide guidance on all issues pertaining to the realization of objectives and consider other issues of concern to the Member States and the Islamic Ummah. The decisions of the Islamic Summit are implemented by the General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
Since its inception in Rabat, Morocco, on 22-25 September 1969, the Islamic Summit Conference has convened eleven times with the last in Dakar, Senegal.
The 11th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference was held in Dakar, Senegal on March 13-14, 2008.
