Winners of Quran Memorization Contest Honored in Kenya

World Association of Quran Memorization awarded winners of Quran memorization contest at a ceremony yesterday, November 9, in Nairobi, Kenya.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to the association’s website, the national competition was organized by the association in cooperation with the country’s Quran School.

177 male and female Quran memorizers participated in the competition.

It was held in 5 categories of memorization of the entire Quran for 17 and 10 year-old participants, and memorization of 20, 15 and 10 Juzes (parts) of the Quran.

The ceremony was attended by Badr-ud-din Abdullah, Sudanese ambassador to Kenya, Mohammad Othman, vice president of Kenya’s Muslim Scholars Council, Abubakr San’an, representative of the World Association of Quran Memorization as well as a number of Quranic figures of the country.

Speakers appreciated the association’s efforts aimed at serving Islam and Muslims and holding Quranic contests in various countries.
