Al-Azhar to Establish Quran Printing Center

In their latest meeting, members of Al-Azhar University’s Islamic Studies Assembly discussed establishment of a Quran printing center at Al-Azhar.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In their latest meeting, members of Al-Azhar University’s Islamic Studies Assembly discussed establishment of a Quran printing center at Al-Azhar.

The meeting was held with the presence of Ahmed Al-Tayyeb president of Al-Azhar University.

According to university spokesman Muhammad Rifa’a Al-Tahtawi, the decision was made following reports that some Quran copies printed in Egypt contain printing problems and errors.

The assembly also warned publishing companies that their permit would be revoked if they publish Qurans with printing errors.

By setting up a Quran printing center, Egypt will follow Saudi Arabia’s example which has a centralized Quran publication institution called King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.
