TEHRAN, Iran (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Talking to news agencies on the sidelines of the Tehran 17th International Festival and Fair of Press and News Agencies (October 25-31), Pikirayi Deketeke, group and editor in chief of Zimbabwe Newspapers, hailed variety of Iranian press and said it would provide the readers with freedom of choice.
He said the positive point with Iran is that a lot of newspapers and magazines are available in the country which give people the right to choose.
He welcomed the idea of holding such an exhibition and said it provides journalists from around the world with the chance to get together and share views and experience.
He added that in the exhibition the participants would have the opportunity to launch their own style of campaign and send their own message to the readers.
Asked to comment on the sanctions imposed against Iran, he said he does not believe in sanctions.
“I don’t believe in sanctions; Iran like any other country is entitled to develop nuclear energy. It has the right as the US, the UK, among others do. So this (sanction imposing) is not just.”
