Quran Memorization Contest Held in Burkina Faso

A Quran memorization contest was held in Burkina Faso by the Quran Memorization Association in cooperation with the World Association of Quran Memorization.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A Quran memorization contest was held in Burkina Faso by the Quran Memorization Association in cooperation with the World Association of Quran Memorization.

According to the website of the association, the competition was held in Ouagadougou, the capital, with 71 Quran memorizers competing in two categories for male and female participants.

They competed in memorization of the entire Quran and 15, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran.

The judging panel of the contest included Hassan Qajaqa, Abubakr Taravari and Abdullah Kaburi.

The ceremony of the contest was held with the presence of Ahmad Sanaqu, head of the country’s Association of Quran Memorization, Mohammad Saleh Al-Mazhar, representative of the World Association of Quran Memorization and a number of scholars and officials in charge of Quranic affairs in Burkina Faso.

Speaking at the ceremony, representative of the World Association of Quran Memorization regarded spreading Quranic teachings throughout the world as the main activity of the association and thanked the country’s officials for their cooperation in holding the Quranic contest.

Winners of the competition were awarded at the end of the ceremony.
