Bilal Shia Muslim Mission of Kenya provides Iftaar to 26 masjids

The Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya has been a long time partner of The World Federation’s Ramadhan Relief programme.

KENYA, Africa (AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Bilal Shia Muslim Mission of Kenya has been a long time partner of The Shia World Federation’s Ramadhan Relief programme. For years, BMMK has organized Iftaars, Sehris, food distributions, Tableegh and spiritual programmes in rural centres across Kenya for our deserving Shia brethren.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

This year, Iftaar assistance was provided at 26 MasjidsMore than 3,229 families benefited from the food distributionFood rations were provided to 7 secondary boarding schools, Shia Madrasahs and to the inmates of the Shimo la Tewa borstal (prison) Iftaar funds were distributed to families and schools in Lamu through Shabab Ahlul BaytFood rations consisted of maize meal, wheat flour, sugar, cooking oil, yeast, beans, rice, tea and dates

TABLEEGH & SPIRITUAL PROGRAMMES

This year, Several programs were organized across various centres including daily recitation and tafseer of the Holy Quran, Dua Iftitah and lectures on religious issues. Dua Tawassul and Dua Kumayl were recited on Tuesdays and ThursdaysUstd. Ramadhan Mlala visited all the centres to impart religious information and fiqh masails.

A special 5 part series of the radio programme: ‘Hidaya Ya Ramadhan’ was aired on PWANI FM 104.7 radio station of Kenya Broadcasting CorporationSalatul Eid ul Fitr was organized at all centres and food was servedEid gifts were distributed to Madrasah children and all muallimeen at the centresBr Masoud Pirozmand, lecturer at the Iranian Behesthi and Rajaie Universities visited BMMK during Ramadhan. He met with the Imams from the BMMK rural centres and conducted a brief Quran assessment where he discussed “How to impart Quran Recitations and Quranic Knowledge” at the centres.

The Shia World Federatiion’s Assistant Secretary General for Islamic Education, Sayyid Ali Raza Naqvi visited BMMK’s rural Centres of Chengoni and Samburu where he participated in the Ramadhan activities at these centres. Sayyid Ali Raza expressed:  “It was truly touching to see and spend time with the Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya’s activities in the rural areas around Mombasa. The Mission is doing some excellent work and I commend them for it. To work so hard in propagating the message of the Ahlul Bayt (as) to such areas shows the dedication of the Mission team. I pray to Allah (swt) to grant them increased tawfeeq and ability to continue these excellent endeavours.”
