Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; African Shia Officials of Shuhada (Martyrs) foundation of Islamic Movement paid a visit to the family of Shaheed Abdurrahman Isah in Shaki, Ogun state on 17th of September 2010.
The visiting team include the Chairman of Shuhada' Foundation Mallam Abdulhameed Bello, Abu Jihad and Dr. Mustafa Saeed. Some members of the Academic Forum were also part of the visiting team.
The family members of the Shaheed were delighted with the visit and expressed that their son attained martyrdom in the cause of Islam.
Shaheed Abdurrahman was killed in a cold blood manner by police in Zaria after Quds Day procession ended peacefully. Shaheed is Yoruba by tribe and hails from Shaki in Ogun State. He has been in Zaria for long and was a student of Amir Shehu Idris College of advance study Zaria before his martyrdom.
In Nigeria peaceful processions were conducted in more than twenty (20) cities amongst which are: Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, and Maiduguri. However, in 2009 in Zaria the police decided to open fire on the armless protesters against the illegal Israeli occupation of the Holy Mosque of Al-Aqsa and the land of the Palestine.
Unfortunately, it was only in Nigeria that the police opened fire on the demonstrators and in Zaria in particular thereby killing three people while many sustained injuries. The state Police Commissioner confirmed the incidence during a news conference in Kaduna
