Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; The opening ceremony of the contest was held Friday evening, September 24, with the presence of Ihsaan Hendricks, head of South Africa's Muslim Judicial Council, head of the country’s Muslim Scholars Union and a number of ambassadors of Islamic countries in Cape Town.
Addressing the ceremony, Hendricks hailed the presence of the ambassadors and stressed the need for Quranic training of children and the youth in order to protect them through the application of Quranic teachings to live a true life.
Ambassador of the UAE to South Africa also spoke at the ceremony and reiterated the importance of teaching of the Quran, saying that with the Quran one learns to reach the highest levels of knowledge and realize his true potential.
