Workshop in Khartoum on Quranic Values Education

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), jointly with Munazzamat El-Da’wa El-Islamiya, is organizing a regional workshop on Quranic Education Values, in Khartoum, Sudan, over the period from 20 to 22 September 2010

Ahlul Bayt News Agency - ABNA - The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), jointly with Munazzamat El-Da’wa El-Islamiya, is organizing a regional workshop on Quranic Education Values, in Khartoum, Sudan, over the period from 20 to 22 September 2010.

Forty experts from Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Chad, Somalia and Tanzania are expected to take part in this regional workshop, which aims to mainstream the values favoring the Muslim individual’s intellectual and emotional development, and the Islamic civilization’s advancement.

It will also seek to make a diagnosis of the values crisis which has affected modern education following its break with the Islamic value system, determine its underlying causes, and highlight the role of the Islamic values in shaping the Muslim mind through education curricula.

Likewise, the workshop will try to come up with feasible and assessable plans to incorporate the Islamic values in national educational systems in the primary, secondary and university education stages, in line with the Quranic approach.

The workshop is also aimed at training educational officials and school staff on Quranic values promotion, encouraging experience sharing among the representatives of the participating countries on methods of developing educational action and its means.

Youssef Abou Daka, Programs Specialist at ISESCO Education Directorate, will supervise this workshop on behalf of ISESCO.
