Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; Mahmoud Hamdi Zaghzough during a meeting with an Iraqi religious delegation held in Cairo said, “Magnifying sectarian disagreements leads to conflicts and division among people in society. Muslim intellectuals should be united and commit themselves to promote solidarity in favor of Islam and against fanaticism and extremism”.
He said that Egypt’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry has published an Islamic Encyclopedia featuring articles about different Islamic schools of Fiqh and explains a wide variety of issues in terms of Islamic branches.
Egyptian Minister stressed the need for enhancement of peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions and said, “Islam not only recognizes different viewpoints and world visions among nations, but also consider them as a fruitful source to enrich thoughts and humanity’s evolution.”
Mr. Zaghzough urged Muslims to fight against all sorts of extremism and urged religious leaders to cooperate with one another.
He also hoped that Iraqis would achieve significant progress in the future so as to play an influential role in the Islamic world.
