Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; The graduation ceremony of Qur’nic Memorisers took place at Filin Dala Kano. 19 pupils of the Fudiyyah Primary School Kano have committed the holy Quran to memory and were presented with gifts during a ceremony attended by multitudes on 12 th September 2010.
11 males and 8 females students, who are between the ages of 10-15, have completed six year programme in the Tahfiz section of the School.
Delivering his speech the School’s Headmaster, Mallam Auwal Shams stated that the School was established on 5th of R/Thani 1426 with view of combining both Islamic and Western Education. Guided by the advice and courage of the leader of the Islamic Movement Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky the aim is achieved as within a period of 5 years 19 students have memorised Quran while many of the students have covered larger portion of it, Shams noted adding that plans are on the way to shorten the period of the memorisation.
The Chairman of National Association of Memorisers of Qur’an (Rabitah Hamalatal Quran) Gwani Lawi recited some portions of the Qur’anic at which the students individually continued with the recitation.
The Chief Host Sheikh Muhammad Turi expressed that the gathering is organised to rejoice with the students and to congratulate them adding that memorisers of the holy book have great status with Allah as related in the sayings of the Prophet (SAWA) “ the noble ones among my Ummah are the memorisers of the holy Qur’an and those who keept vigil for worship”
At the end of the ceremony leader of the Islamic Movement presented gifted items to the students.
The ceremony was attended by important dignitaries which include the Vice Chancellor Bayero University, Kano (B.U.K) Prof. Abubakar Rashid and Prof. Dahiru Yahaya. Others include Chairman of National Association of Qur’anic memorisers Mallam Gwani Lawi and other scholars.
