Winners of the first stage, which had started on August 28, were also announced yesterday.
Usama As-Samr Al-Faturi from Libya, Abdullah Samara Suleyman from Egypt and At-Tifl Saeedun Nabiyullah Muhammad Jan from Tajikistan were announced as winners in the category of memorization, Tarteel and Tajweed recitation of the entire Quran.
In the category of memorization, Tarteel, Tajweed recitation of the entire holy Quran along with interpretation, Ahmed Samir Ivaz from Egypt, Tahir Idris An-Naeem from Nigeria and Muhammad Ali Yusuf from Libya won the first three titles.
The categories of the second stage include memorization, Tarteel and Tajweed recitation of 20, 10, and 6 Juzes (sections) of the Holy Book, the last one being for non-Arab speaking participants.
The competition’s closing ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 5. Winners of the five categories will be awarded at the function, which is to be attended by Egypt’s president.
