Ahlul Bayt News Agency, The Shia Islamic Movement in Nigeria organises 3 day mourning gathering on the martyrdom of Imam Ali Bn Ali Talib (AS) at Fudiyyah islamic Center (F.I.C) on 21 of Ramadan 1431. The programme takes place after iftar in which African top Shia cleric, Sheikh Zakzaky, revisits the history of Imam Ali and members of Ahlul Bayt(AS) after the demise of the Prophet.
The leader of the Islamic Movement started with a breif introduction on the lofty status of Imam Ali citing verses in the Holy Quran and sayings of the Prophet (SAWA). Reading from the book zulamat wa maqtal Imam Ali by Sheikh Muhammad Shareef, Sheikh Zazkaky mentioned many verses of Quran that were revealed to extol Imam Ali (AS)'s status adding that all the verses that qualified iman (belief) were revealed in respect of Imam Ali.
Some of the verses, as explained by Sheikh Zakzaky, include the verse on qualities of believers in many places in the holy Quran, the verse on Purification, the verse of Mubahala. No verse in the holy Quran that was revealed to qualify believers except that it was revealed on Imam Ali, Sheikh noted. The leader also mentioned the sayings of holy prophet with the regard to the high status of Imam as reported in sunni books of Hadeeth and history.
The allegiance paid to Imam Ali by the companions during the lifetime of the holy Prophet was also explained by Sheikh Zakzaky as well as what some of the companions said after the allegiance. The Sheikh, however, elaborated how some groups manipulated and changed the order of the prophet with the regard to his successorship which led to the snatching away the successorship from Imam Ali(AS). The suffering underwent by the Imam and Sayyidah Az-Zahra was also explained.
During the three day mourning gathering Sheikh Zakzaky will revisit history of Imam Ali and his subsequent martyrdom at the hand of Ibn Maljum , the outcast.
