Qatar: Charities unveil Iftar plans

Leading charities like Zakat Fund, the Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services(Raf) and Qatar Charity have announced plans to provide Iftar to low-income workers as well as bachelors in many locations in Qatar.

Air-conditioned tents, which can accommodate hundreds of people, are being set up to serve the meals. Qatar Charity said yesterday it had allocated some QR10mn for its Iftar programme in Qatar and abroad.

On Saturday, the Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services said it had set aside QR30mn for its Ramadan charity projects. Pictured is a tent erected by Zakat Fund on the premises of a mosque in Doha Jadeed.
