Quran Radio to Be Launched in Mauritania

A Quran radio will be launched in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Al-Akhbar news agency reported.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), The country’s president commissioned the national radio to establish a Quran radio station to advance the Quranic knowledge of Mauritanians.

President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz also said there are many Quran reciters, memorizers and experts in the country but because of lack of specialized media they have remained unknown.

He also stressed the need for a Quranic media during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a country in northwestern Africa with a population of 2.7 million. More than 98 percent of the country’s population is Muslim.
