Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Members of the Resource Forum held a one day seminar on the late Imam Khomeini(QS) at Cultural Center Abuja on Sunday the 18th of July 2010. The theme of the Seminar is “The Victory of Imam’s struggle and the lessons therein” with Mallam Muhammad Mahmud Turi as the Guest Speaker.
The Speaker started by exploring the situation in Iran under Shah before the revolution and ofcourse the situation after victory of the Imam’s led revolution. He explained that Imam called people to Islam at a time when even the Scholars saw the Call as unnecessary. Though, this type of Call had been in Iran for many years before Imam, his led struggle succeeded because of sound ideology, persistence and determination and resulted into having an Islamic system of Governance, Sheikh Turi explained.
Before Imam the like of Ayatullah Nori gave immense contribution in calling Muslims to adopt the teachings of Islam in governance and that was around 1904. The Success of Imam Struggle was based on the concept of wilayatil Faqih- a concept derived by the Imam from Sharia which necessities that governance or leadership must be under a Scholar.
The concept revives Islam and Muslims can live under the commands of Allah with it, and this of course shows that Islam is suitable for any era.
Sheikh Turi noted that despite enemies’ plots and failed coup attempts, the System was sustained during Imam and after him. The Iraq-Iran 8 year imposed war is one of the plots, he added.
The world arrogant powers still did not lose hope as after the demise of the Imam they opined that the system would collapse with his death as fight might erupt due to successor ship. Still their wishes were not fulfilled as Sayyid Ali Khamenei, accepted by people, was selected peacefully by well known Scholars among whom were his seniors but for the interest of Islam and the Ummah he was selected by them.
Sheikh Turi added that enemies plots are increasing as they named Iran as one of the Axis of Evil in addition to various economic sanctions. Of recent the political turmoil after the last election in Iran was the hand work of enemies despite the fact observers and analysts described it as the best election in the world. Technological advancement of Iran is an outstanding progress to reckon with in Iran.
Sheikh Ture added that three lessons can be drawn from Imam’s struggle:-
1. Imam revives Hope in the Muslim Ummah and with it and Trust in Allah success can be achieved.
2. Leadership to the Muslims and to all other struggles.
3 He provided a sample on how to bring about a total change.
The programme chaired by the Chairman of the Resource Forum Dr. Abdullahi Danladi, was attended by political analysts, economists, journalists and many individuals from various works of life.
