Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Tanzania’s Islamic Center was officially inaugurated on Friday in the country’s new capital city, Dodoma, arabic.islamic-call website reported.
Tanzania’s President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the grand Mufti, deputy foreign minister, Dodoma’s governor general, Friday prayer leaders, and Islamic scholars as well as thousands of people were present at the opening ceremony.
The center has been built in an 18000-square-meter plot of land and has a mosque, education center and medical clinic. It has been built by the World Islamic Dawa Institute.
The president and other officials visited different parts of the center and then said Friday prayers led by the grand Mufti.
Located in the heartland of Tanzania, Dodoma is the nation’s new official political capital and the seat of government. The country’s former capital city was Dar es Salaam.
