Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), 100 thousand dollars worth of relief aid was distributed throughout the Gaza Strip by the Aman Palestine Institute in Malaysia in partnership with 42 Gaza Strip organizations.
In his turn, head of the Aman Palestine Institute in Malaysia, Abdullah Zaik, confirmed that the aid was sent to the poor and needy and was planned to be distributed in his presence and the presence of the Malaysian delegation. The delegation, however, was not given clearance into Gaza due to lack of coordination with the Egyptian authorities.
In further developments, the Aman Institute launched seven summer camps throughout the Gaza Strip, aimed at developing children’s health skills and relieving the psychological pressure experienced by the children of Gaza as a result of the Israeli siege.
Zaik said that the camps are also an effort to develop a deeper friendship between Malaysia and Palestine, and to instill important values in children at a young age.
The summer camps will be launched Saturday morning, with a total budget estimated at about $28,000, accommodating 350 children from lower-class families and 50 unemployed young men and women, Omar Siyam, Executive Director of the Palestine Bureau, said on his part, adding that the camps will be implemented in partnership with local associations in the region.
In similar instances, a delegation of nine doctors from Malaysia set foot on the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing Friday afternoon, welcomed by doctors from the Palestinian Red Crescent. Another medical team from Indonesia entered Gaza on Thursday, the crossings and borders department said.
