Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Abdullah Ghulamullah said that all the preliminary assessments and planning procedures have finished and the construction will begin in near future.
He said the Masjid will accommodate up to 120,000 worshippers. It is estimated that building the Masjid will cost over a billion dollars. The grand Masjid of Algeria is expected to be the third largest Masjid in the world. It will be located on the Bay of Algiers. At 300 meters, its minaret tower will be the largest in the world. The Masjid will feature several cultural and religious structures, a conference room, a Quran house, a centre for cultural sciences, three libraries and media centers, an amphitheatre, a laboratory, a 300-room hotel, a shopping centre, restaurants, green spaces and a recreational park.
