50 Sudanese Christians Embrace Islam

50 Sudanese Christians converted to Islam in a ceremony attended by the country’s President Omar al-Bashir.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), The 50 new converts said the Shahaadatayn (Declaration of Faith: there is no God but Allah and Muhammad (PBUH) is the prophet of God) at the ceremony.

Speaking at the function, Sheikh Karuri Friday prayer leader of Ash-Shahid Mosque in Khartoum said that due to the light of Islam and its logic and reason more and more people are attracted to this faith.

He said that many young Christians in the southern parts of Sudan refer to different books and sources about Islam to learn about it and many of them ultimately embrace Islam.

President Omar al-Bashir congratulated the new converts and wished them blessings of peace and prosperity.

Islam is the largest religion in Sudan where Muslims make up nearly 80 percent of the population.
