Iran Cultural Center to Hold Quran Competition in Zimbabwe

The Iranian Culture Center in Zimbabwe plans to hold a national Quran competition next month, IQNA’s ICRO branch reports.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), 24 Quran memorizers and reciters from seven provinces of Zimbabwe will attend the contest which is slated to be held on June 6.

A jury panel made up of two Quran experts from Libya and Egypt and two from other African countries will judge the contest.

Asadi, Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Zimbabwe will officiate the closing ceremony.

Winners of the Quran memorization and recitation contest will travel to Iran to attend the International Awqaf Quran Contest which is to be held concurrent with the Be’sat (call to prophethood) on July 9.

Muslims make up some 15 percent of the population in the African country of Zimbabwe.
