Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), KAULA LUMPUR (Malaysia): Minister for Privatization Senator Waqar Ahmad will represent Pakistan in the 6th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) being held in Kuala Lumpur on May 19.

Pakistan is also setting up a big pavilion in the 6th WIEF exhibition to showcase its quality products including mangoes, handcrafts, women garments, traditional jewellery and other such products, says Pakistan’s High Commission in Malaysia.

Besides the forum, Pakistan will also be represented in the Businesswomen’s Forum and the Young Leader’s Forum.

The WIEF is expected to bring together some 2000 participants comprising world leaders and members of the global business community to discuss ideas and strategies on global issues affecting trade and business and to network with each other on cross border business opportunities.

The Forum has been instrumental in providing a platform for thought-provoking dialogue to provide synergistic solutions to key economic issues of interest to the Muslim world and to bridge the economic gap between the Muslim and non-Muslim world by tackling the current state of the global economy, from a Muslim world perspective.

The Forum will focus on forging cooperation among the member states in areas such as tourism, logistics, SMEs, water management, branding, technology for education, entrepreneurship and business ethics, innovation and Islamic banking.

The Forum is expected to be attended by half a dozen world leaders including the Sultan of Brunei, the Presidents of Indonesia, Senegal, Maldives, and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh besides the host country’s Prime Minister.
