Shia-Sunni Joint Meeting in Tanzania

The Ismailia Association of Tanzania organized a joint meeting of Shia and Sunni Muslims of the country last week.

According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir),  Attended by eminent Tanzanian Shia and Sunni scholars, the meeting was held as part of a series of ceremonies on birth anniversary of the holy prophet (PBUH). Commemorating the occasion has been going on in Tanzania for a few months.

Moslem Banji principal of Dar Al-Moslemin, a Shia school in Dodoma city that hosted the ceremony, said that it was first time such a joint meeting was held with the presence of the country’s Sunni and Shia scholars.

“Cultural and religious programs of this kind would strengthen Islamic unity and help to foil the divisive plots of enemies,” he noted.
