Turkey accepted to join the international contact group for solution of the dispute between the Philippines government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, Anadolu news agency said.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement Monday announcing the decision to join the contact group which parties recently agreed to establish within the scope of the peace talks carried out with the mediation of Malaysia.
The framework agreement for the International contact group was signed on September 15 2009.
Philippines and the M.I.L.F also decided to invite England, Japan and Saudi Arabia to join the contact group.
The Philippines, an archipelagic country located in the western Pacific Ocean, has a population of 90 million people. The population of Muslims is about 12 million.
