A cash donation for the construction of a new mosque was presented yesterday during a handover ceremony held at Dato Marsal Primary School.
The cash donation amounting to $3,060.30, was raised by the Jawatankuasa Pemimpin-Pemimpin Sekolah Rendah Kawasan (JAPSER) Association and primary school teachers in the Brunei IIA area.
Acting Assistant Director of the Department of Schools, Cikgu Hj Zulkipli bin Hj Ladis, handed over the donation to the Village Head of Kg Manggis, Treasurer of the Kg Manggis-Madang Mosque Trust, Major (Bersara) Pg Hj Idrus bin Pg Hj Mahmud.
Also present at the ceremony were Brunei IIA Supervisors, as well as committee leaders of primary schools in Brunei IIA.
The ceremony began with the recital of the al-fatihah, followed by the cash donation, and was then concluded with a Doa Selamat.
According to previous reports, the estimated cost of building the new mosque is $5,014,856.00, and the committee for the construction of the new mosque is still collecting donations.
